London Great Synagogue 1870

Abraham WOOLF was born around 1789 in the Spitalfields area of London. His patronymic name was Avraham Halevi son of Meshullam Halevi. He married Elizabeth SAMUEL in 1823 at the Great Synagogue in London. He made ladies' shoes, although for a while he was a Quill Dealer and even a cigar manufacturer. He lived most of his married life in Petticoat Lane. He died in 1877.

Abraham and Elizabeth had the following children, Hannah (who married Samuel SHUTER), Charles, Henry (who married Leah), Leon or Lion, David (who married Rebecca), Fanny, Phillip, Isaac (who married Clara COHEN), Rachel (who married Samuel Abraham COHEN) and Miriam (who married Isaac HART).
