3 - normal against no trump contracts, indicates one or more honours aiming to make additional trick in suit either through partner's Q or through 13th card, indicates to partner a suit to lead.

A - normal against suit contracts (if suit needs to be led), implies K but could be Axxx, gives you a chance to view dummy and partner's signal before leading again, may give rise to a ruffing winner, but may also give an unnecessary trick to opponents with QJx or even Qxx.

K - normal against suit contracts for partnerships that play K from AKxx and A from AK doubleton, may be confused for showing KQxx, but normally this wouldn't affect partner's play
